Since its creation in 1931, the first reversible watch has proved to be a truly inspiring artistic canvas. As a tribute to the origins of miniature painting and the decorative crafts performed within the Manufacture, our Métiers Rares™ craftsmen have reproduced a polo match on the reverse of the Reverso Tribute Enamel Shahnameh watch as it was played in Persia in the Middle Ages. Taken from a collection of stories written by Ferdowsi, the Book of Kings (Shahnameh in Persian), this picturesque scene seems to come to life before our very eyes. Riders and horses face off under a blue sky studded with stars and (24k, 999/1000), gold leaves. The reproduction of the original illustration is the result of 100 hours of manual labour, requiring several passes through an 800°C oven.
